Afurada is located near the mouth of the Douro river,
where it meets the Atlantic Ocean.
Just a few minutes driving from Porto, the village mantains its traditional fishermen life and remains mostly untouched by tourism.

From the reflection of the sun on fishscales to the shadow of an old woman's wrinkle on her face, everything in the village resonates with love and care for the long heritage guarded by its inhabitants. Tiles of containers lay on the concrete and face the river, clouds of smoke come out of the houses where wives cook lunch and dinner for their husbands or relatives.

How does it feel to walk in the streets of this small village and know each and every person that crosses path, ant to be aware to be part of a generation that upholds traditions that one day people are going to miss?
